Can we just get rid of these tedious "I dislike black people but don't really want to admit it" threads. Move them elsewhere or bin them? The repetitiveness of all this crap is ruining the forum.

I dont dislike black people! I have many black friends. Even they are sick of all this rubbish.

Same could be said for any race or colour, everyone is feeling more anxious, everyone's had a pretty **** year.

I'm sure they are. I don't think we need another thread about it though.

One point that article accurately makes is that ethnics minorities have been disproportionately affected by COVID. I'm not sure why you're complaining about that point being made.

I don't think this is about disliking black people, I think it's about disliking a one-sided, misrepresentative, self-serving media narrative.

The best thing to do with such articles is not to share them. The more they're shared, the more the media will push their agenda.

Notice how when Brexit happened it almost disappeared from the papers overnight even though it had been headline news for years till then. The media only care about what gets them clicks or sells papers.

Sick of it myself.

I really don't like the way the media tries to collectivise people either. Who had it worse, a white guy who has lost family and his job to Covid or a black guy who's fed up that he's had to quarantine for a few weeks?

People are individuals, claiming that ALL of one group is the same and thus has the exact same experiences is divisive and unhelpful.

There's plenty of 'BAME' people who are sick of this sort of thing.

Spot on. I'm guilty of this myself. Just ignore obvious clickbait rubbish even if it may anger you. The sooner people stop clicking the sooner it will go away, which isn't soon enough.

Pretty sure pretty much everyone's had a bloody awful year in all fairness. This reductive nonsense is getting tiresome.

The BBC in particular just keep doubling down - it's like they are a parody of themselves these days. :D

I agree about it probably being better not to share such stuff, but on the flip side if there's no negative feedback, they'll keep coming out with the same guff.

I think the thread title should solely relate to the BBC in its entirety.

I think people need to just stop watching the corporate media they seem to be the ones making everyone feel like they're under attack, whether it be from police brutality or a glorified flu that loses its potency during mass riots.
