What a stupid idea:

Always good for road safety to have a car parked up on the pavement with a telescope to distract people on a junction.
 
Well a PCSO in a Smart car is definitely cheaper than two fully-trained officers in a Volvo V70.

Because eating something at a junction with the handbrake on while you wait for the lights to change is dangerous y0.
 
We've got those cctv equipped Smart cars round my way, though I think they're run by Medway Council - the last time I popped round to the local Blockbusters to drop a film off (at 7.30pm on a Wednesday evening) it was hanging around nearby trying to nick people for parking offenses.
 
I think that they will only stop with these kind of things until we have a camera in car and sensors on our body while driving. You will also need to tell them where you are going and for what reason....

This is ridiculous. Will I get fined for drinking some water at the lights? Or punching/kissing a passenger? Damn idiots.
 
This is getting bloody ridiculous, the police are getting just plain rubbish. So they can spend time and money on things like this but when my friends son and daughter rang the police to report that a couple of youths were trying to kick their door in whilst they were in the house, they were told sorry we're too busy right now, if the youths are still there in half an hour ring up and see if we have somebody free, WTF.
 
I HATE what this country has become. If this is'nt a big brother act and another battle against us 'dangerous' motorists by the loooony left nutters i don't know what is. Soft targets to build up stats. Know all police aren't bad but getting to hate the whole lot of em.

It's all about policing without effort as far as I can see/hear/tell. They just don't seem to be interested in cases where there's no straight return or finish.
 
I seen some Smart Cars in Manchester a couple of years ago with a mobille speedcamera unit thingy on the roof :eek:
 
Cool, so police will be banned form using their radios to communicate while driving too.... Means they cant use the radio to call in the fact they have seen you with your hand in your hair....

Fair enough.

Ill be the first to admit that changing the radio station or CD or adfjusting settings has given me a few scares:p

I also know people who have crashed into park cars and one girl that roilled her car doing it.
 
heh, my ex wrote off motor playing with radio, thats the problem with cars, too many creature comforts and buttons to play with when you should be looking at road

the more buttons a car has the more boring the ride imho, scoobys etc, aweful interior but you wont even worry as they are a hoot to drive... luxo barge, 10 billion buttons and a snoozemobile ;)
