The car flipped onto the south-bound side and into the path of an oncoming Peugeot, killing its driver.

It left the Peugeot driver, who has not yet been identified, with serious injuries and he died at the scene.

The male driver of the Mitsubishi was also severely injured and was due to undergo surgery at the University Hospital of North Durham.

He should be put down tbh!

i was thinking that, but it would have to be the sort of brain damage that meant even though he is retarded, he is able to know he isn't normal, rather than the sort where you are just retarded without knowing.....if that makes sense.

Nobody wants to consider giving the police a portion of the blame for fishtailing him at 80+ mph?

Obviously the guy was an utter tool for stealing a car and then attempting to evade the police, but the motorway isn't exactly the most suitable place to try to bring a car to a "controled stop". Basic physics suggests loss of control will ensue. I'd be interested to see what police guidelines are situations such as this. Anyway, the IPCC is investigating the situation and I'm sure they will have all the facts.

You do know its only America that uses the retarded fishtail method right? Most country get several patrol cars and box him in then slow down to a stop, hes obviously been so stupid that hes tried to go up the grass verge resulting in him flipping. Are you seriously suggesting the police just let him swerve in and out of traffic on the motorway? That would still potential cause fatality's.
