Hi, After just being told by the NTL/Virgin media tech that the reason for my 4mb broadband being halved at certain times of the day is due to a Cap on their "unlimited download" when a heavy user like me is downloading a lot at peak times so they halve the speed unless it is between 12 and 4am.

Anyway ive decided i might go ADSL which would be cheaper for higher speed but not sure i would get over 2 mb because i don't know where the nearest exchange is, Is there a site that will tell me?

Thanks

Call them up and say Sky has offered you free internet. See what they can offer you. (Push for the 20meg which has a modest 3GB allowance before shaping in those hours.)

I would probably go Sky up to 16Mb, Problem is i don't want to do that and then find out i can only connect at 2mb.

cool it says that LLU XDSL is available does that mean i will at least get over 4Meg?

You need to know how far you are from the Exchange to get some sort of clue to speeds but in honesty you won't know for sure till you are connected as line quality and actual line length play a big part.

Which LLU services are available?
How far does it say you are from the exchange?
What speed does it say you're line should achieve?
