So, can anyone work out what I'm creating?

The D780C-2's I'd have prefered a pair of 80180's but I couldn't find any.

so are you building a RAM then? if the rest are tri states... ( a lev electronics taught me nothing )

The D780C-2 is an NEC Z80 isnt it! So is this some kind of retro 8bit hack?

shimy182, I neveer did A level or GCSE electronics... I was once given a 200+ page service manual for a 48K spectrum (i had the +4S version along with 2 128K +2B's and one 128K +3 with the 3" floppy drive) I read it cover to cover and I under stood 90% of the system scamatic (even though I can never spel it right)

So, to put you all outa your miserys...

2 X D780C-2 - - - - 6 MHz Z80 micro processors. 8 bit data bus, 16bit address bus.
8 X M5118165A-6OJ - - - - DRam off 30 pin sim module
16 X vg264400bj - - - - DRam off 30 pin sim module
1 X 27C010 - 15 - - - - 1Mb EPROM
1 X P28F002BC - - - - 2MB Flash

I'm using a pair of processors because one will be a main processor and the other one will handle math, IO and anything else I can off load to it...

but the question your all proberbly askin is whats it for?
Well, lets just say that the above will be coupled to...
Some octal latching buffers and relays - Digital IO
8 DAC's with power fets - liniar power control

i'm hoping to have it done for xmas...

So, how creative can you be with what it's going to be for....

I currently have a few problems to get around....
1) How do I get the 'operating system' onto the flash / eproms....
2) need to re-learn nmonics / machine code (can't remember how to spell it)
3) find data sheets for the ram I got... and hope they 5V not 3.3V...
4) get vista to run on this...

Ok, #4 a joke.... I'm kidding...
