ok I have 2x 5970s xfire on a gigabyte 1366 ud7 mobo, got an i7 920 cpu and 6gb ram.

Now when I Youtube pc gameplay videos of various games for example the original Crysis on the same specs as I have, the videos look much better !

these gameplay videos are at maximum high settings, but they look so much better, lag free no skipping ect

I mean I thought I had a beast PC, so I play crysis on the same specs and same settings but guess what, the youTube videos look way better !

when i play crysis on full maximum settings on 1900x1200 resolution my gameplay is not stable, the graphics skip and freezes.

Another example Arma2 game, if I put it on maximum settings I cannot play becuase the screen freezes ect, but if I lower the graphic settings then I can play comfortably,

But looking at Youtube gameplay videos on the same PC spec as I have, other peoples graphics are much better and lag free !

What am I doing wrong ?

Doesn't 2 x 5970 hamper performance some what, have you tried with just 1 5970, I cannot see you needing 2 5970 at that resolution to max out games

Crysis on very high quality settings is still very demanding even by today's standards, but (especially @1920*1200) freezing sounds wrong.

As Ginger-Menace said make sure your games are patched up-to-date. Also, have you made sure your drivers are up-to-date as well?

Quad-fire performance was never reliable...some people would have better luck and get better performance, whereas other might get shuttering hell.

Another thing to bare in mind is that Crysis is fairly CPU demanding, yet because the game is dated, it only really uses two cores; have you checked your GPU usage? If it is not high, your i7 920 at stock speed is most likely holding your two 5970 back.

Yes , i thought that too, maybe if I overclock the cpu and the ram, it will get better.

Does anyone know the there is a noobs guide to overclocking? Since im not trained on this section I dare not to attempt incase I blow up my PC. Ive tried you tube videos for overclocking but they are way to short and confusing.

And reffering to the freezing, its not paticurlary freezing it more like stuttering i.e if I were to look from one direction to another in a 1st person shooter then the monitor would flicker rarther than a smooth change.

Only the highest demading games at extremley high settings would cause me problems.
