what am i missing?

hi, im having some problems with my dvd rom drive or more specifically problems reading discs.

I believe its software wise as before installing a fresh copy of windows it worked fine.

basically when I burn a data dvd with say .avi files and want to play it back on my pc, windows explorer opens the drive but doesnt see anything in there.

now i put the same disc in another pc and it works fine.

also before in nero infotool I could see the dyes of dvds, eg ritek g05, g04 etc now i cannot. it doesnt show any information about the dvds.

im pretty sure im missing some sorta file but i dont know what it is.

Sounds more like hardware than software imo.
My options would be to reinstall burning software, uninstall and reboot/redetect the optical drive, and finally go for a firmware flash - if an updated one exists.
