Hi,

Overclocking basically from 2.4 to 3.

I'll start off with the system spec if it helps.

Mobo: P5W DH Deluxe.
RAM: 4x GeIL 1GB PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2.
CPU: Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB).
PSU: OCZ GameXStream 700w.

Now i jumped into the BIOS and enabled the clocking speed to manual, now from what i understand, you up the fsb until you can no longer boot into windows and when you cannot boot into windows, up the vcore voltage?

Well I'm now sitting at 3ghz (2.97ghz).

Should I be doing anything else? I have downloaded Super PI and ran it through all the calculations and it hasn't failed.

I feel like I'm missing something out, as thats too easy!

BTW, I haven't needed to up any voltages, just fsb?? and it seems stable!

Cheers,

Ben.

Cheers fella's .

So if my computer stays stable just by upping the fsb to get my 3ghz, do i just leave it at that, as in leave all the other bits alone.)

(Sorry I'm from the motors forum :p)

Lmao,

Okey, I'll see if i can push it to 3.2 tomorrow :D , I can see me upping the vcore this time :)

I'm a bit edgy with oc'ing . My last rig caught on fire and died a flamey death :( .

Seems so easy with this board!

thanks again!

It's an E6600, I was going to buy a Q6600 next payday but seeing how much it's improved by overclocking it, I think I'll hold off now :D .
