What am I missing

Hi my Phenom II 965 on an MSI 790FX-GD70 overclocked to 3.7 from 3.4 MHz
[18.5 multi] drops back to standard 3.4 MHz [17.0] multi when ever I start gaming, Its not locking up, just dropping out of the overclock. I can run prime95 for ages and the overclock stays. Can you please give me a clue whats causing this? overclock set in BIOS, and tried AMD overdrive same thing happens.
Cool and quite is disabled in bios.

Solved it! I am dual booting Windows 7 and XP pro, had not used XP for an age tried overclock in XP and it holds, and now overclock is holding in W7. Do not know why, problem solved.
