Noticed all these folders under my user account that were taking up gigabytes of space, what exactly do they contain? I've noticed a lot of empty folders in directories even.

C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local
C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\LocalLow
C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming
C:\ProgramData

Also how can I change the default temporary directory to my ramdisk to speed things up?

are you logged in as administrator? if so dont touch em,you can delete everything in appdata/local/temp folder.
C:\programdata speaks for itself! and you may have gigabytes in this folder depending on installed programmes.
if you dont login as admin then you can delete that account if you really want to,google can help you with that easily enough, changing temp directory will not speed things up.

On that rig in your sig things shouldn't be slowing down....

With quite a few programs, during file extractions or installation, files are put in the temp directory which obviously reduces throughput. By switching the temp directory to another drive that bottleneck is removed.

start>search>start typing in environment

from there you can change the location of your temp folder. reboot.

Thanks.
