My local village con club was fantastic when I was kid tbh.
Kids disco every two weeks in the adjacent hall. Dad with other fathers having a couple of beers in the bar enjoying each others company. Mothers get a night off at home to enjoy. Go down for a Sunday lunch and a couple of games of snooker to finish off.
