What are considered the optimal settings for a Dell u2311H?

Hi guys :)

As per title I've just taken delivery of a Dell u2311H panel and I'm a bit unimpressed with the colour compared to the NEC 20WGX2 it replaces.

Does anyone know the optimal settings for this monitor?

I needed a bigger panel and I'm not paying £500 for a 8-bit 24 when I got a 6-bit 23 for £204. It's an excellent screen just need to have a bit of a play about.

well really i was curious as to which 8-bit monitors he was referring to which were <£150

but no, the panel used in the U2311H is actually a 6-bit+AFRC IPS module. and pretty hard really to tell any real difference compared with a similar 8-bit e-IPS panel unless you particularly know what you're looking for or have a very high end requirement. most average users wouldnt know the difference

Baddass' research suggests that Samsung's current cPVAs are 6-bit + dithering as well.
