What are external TV Tuners like for TFT monitors?

Hi all,

I have a monitor courtesy of our very own OCuk, a HannsG 19" one, but I would like to watch TV on it.

I've seen external tv tuners for tft monitors on this auction site but wondered what the quality was like please?

They even claim to be able to play HD footage, and fill all 1440 x 900 of my monitors pixels, although i'm not sure how this is true considering Freeview and analogue don't broadcast anything in HD to my knowledge.

Opinions please!

I bought one years ago from ****** which I thought would have been really good as it was quite expensive. It turned out to be pretty crap - would personally check their returns policy before buying one, just in case you do want to send it back.

thanks for the reply - how expensive are you talking martin? I've seen some for £33 which look like cheaply manufactured Hong Kong goods, and indeed the item is from Hong Kong.
