As stated in title, ive built a computer but because of where it is at the moment and tbh for the foreseeable future, i cant directly plug it into my router.

So what is my best option, I would like to do some online gaming. Are there any differences between a PCI card or USB? Is powerline a better bet?

Using a belkin usb adapter at the minute which is useless!

PCI over USB. How far away are the routers? WiFi is fine as long as you get reasonably strong signal, otherwise go for powerline. Easiest thing to do is slap a cheap PCI WiFi card in and if that doesn't work, return the PCI card (distance selling regulations are your friend here) and get a set of powerline plugs.

Personally I'd go for a network bridge/client (whatever you like to call it) which connects to the router via wireless but plugs into the pc via lan cable. You can place it anywhere you like to get the best signal as long as you can get a lan cable to it from your pc :)

Something like http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-038-EX&groupid=46&catid=1837&subcat=

I use this type of device to connect my main network (wired) with my router downstairs via wireless although I can't comment on the edimax
