Currently on an i7 2600k at 4.4ghz on an Asus PZ77-V LX mobo with 8GB ram.
I was going to do a complete upgrade and get a new mobo, skylake 6700k, and possibly a 970 or an R9 390 and 16GB Ram.
All other components are already spoken for (decent LCD, Corsair AX860i PSU Fractal XL case)
Now I'm thinking perhaps just keep my i7 2600k as it is, (perhaps overclock it a little more) and getting a 980ti, since i'll be saving on a new mobo and CPU. Then get 16gb ram... To bring my computer more upto date.
I really only game 1900x1200 for a few hrs max a week,
The rest of the time, I'm just surfing the web on forums.. So I'm most definitely not what you call a hardcore gamer... but i absolutely can't stand it when i get frame drops. So if I'm going to buy a game i want it running to its max potential..
So what's better a 970 and a 6700k with DDR4, or sticking with what i've got an a better GPU.
Opinions please.
