well its comming close to the end of my contract with carphone warehouse on O2 where its 45£ a month and i get 600mins and texts and 60£ back every 6 months so 35£ technically and i have a k800i with it.

im looking to get a new phone and contract. preferably my max is 40£ but would prefer 30£ if possible. would like about 600mins and unlimited texts and also unlimited web browsing. also would be very handy if it had GPS and maybe a touch screen ;) needs to have a decent camera on it about 3.2MP or more.

ive been looking ah the viewity but dont think it has gps, iphone 3g looks good but rather expensive :S any way to get it cheaper? n95 8g is possible but again kinda want a touch screen for some reason and the camera has a bit of a delay.... the SE X1 looks pretty damm snazzy but will be a while till its out and probably have to sell a kidney...

what ya all think?

Orange Dolphin 35 ? (I think) 600 mins , unlim texts and web , £30 a month on the web and a few phones to choose ?

mmm looking at that now looks pretty good but well the n95 costs 50£ and dont really like the other phones that much..... ahhh i dunnoooo :p

humm saything that tho, wifi would be nice to have... really want that damm i phone now, but i think the camera is pants and the price :p

All phone cameras are pants, get used to it? If you want a half decent image, funny enough i'd advise you use a camera. I dumped camera phones a long time ago, i'm stuck with a lowly 2mp camera on my very svelte E51, it does everything else i need, is half the size and weight of an N95. If i need a camera on a night out, i take a camera, and i get damn better shots from it! If i need a music player i take my iPod, that has 80Gb of music and lasts for hours, also once run out my phone still works! Convergence, isn't what its cracked up to be.

well i find the 3.2 mp camera on my phone fine really for taking snap shots as it means when i co out and get trashed theres less to carry. and well i dont have a digital camera, i dont have an ipod so woudlnt mind something that could play music but i dont really listen to music through personal players when out cos im either with mates or in the car. just looking for a decent all in one really

Sorry but some mobile phones have good cameras. I have a N82 and the camer (5MP) on that is very good for everyday use. Granted I have a digital camera as well. But I dont have that with me 24/7 like I do my phone.

SE are bringing out an 8mp camera phone in "Q4 2008" (is that soon or does it go april-april?)

Either way it'll probably be let down by a crap lense again :/

No they really don't, they're adequate drunk photos at best. Any cheap ass canon within the last few years would completely blow it out of the water. Regarding sensor size, zoom lens, real features, speed, battery life, the list is endless. Camera phones are still in a fad phase, just average Joe hasn't really noticed because they get MEGAPIXZELS rammed down their throat.

It will still be pap, like the 5mp SE wasn't all that much better than their 3.2, because they don't increase the sensor size with MP rating, thus introduce more and more noise, and also as you say the lens might not be any good either, plus it'll be lacking everything else I've already went through :p

The 6220 Classic is a pretty decent phone, the camera is good enough for a phone but Alex is right, it just doesn't compare to any vaguely decent digital camera. I like the fact that you can put in SDHC memory cards and use it as an mp3 player easily, I've currently got a 4gb card in there which is enough for a good few hours worth of music. It has GPS although I've only had the quickest play with it so I don't know exactly how good it is. I personally think WiFi on phones is a bit of a gimmick mostly unless the phone has a qwerty keyboard but then they usually become too bulky for me to consider.

You should be able to get it on a £25 p/m tarriff if you want it as cheap as possible.

Wifi is great, but has pretty limited usage, i just like the fact everything that i do online around my flat/uni (which has a huge range)/free wifi hotspots works instantly. Also i've started using my phone as a sip phone when its in my flat, which (again is gimmicky :p) but free/cheap/cool...
