Hi guys/gals,

I'm just wondering what my options are with regards to monitors with the below requirements

27"
1440P
IPS
144Hz
Optional Gsync/Freesync

At the minute, I can only find the Asus PG279Q and the Acer Predator counterpart

34"/35"
3440/1440 or 2560/1080
IPS
144Hz

For the above, I still can't justify never mind afford the X34 range so have been looking at the Acer Z35, Predator XZ350CUBMIJPHZ, AOC C3583FQ, Predator XR341CKB.

I know the above are all VA apart from the last one which is only 75Hz.

I mainly play CSGO hence the requirement for 144Hz, but I also edit some photos using Lightroom the very odd time hence the IPS requirement.

Currently I'm running a 24" 1080P 144Hz TN and a 22" 1080P IPS but want to merge both into one monitor.

The 27" category ticks all of my requirements but at the same time I want to try 21:9 but I would have to skip on some requirements.

I would consider 29" if it ticks all the requirements.

Thanks.

I've just made a switch to 21:9, and there is no way i can go back now . . . after a single evening of gaming.

I chose the Dell U3415W, and it's perfect for me. It's only 60hz, and not Gsync, but my 1080 doesnt drop below that point anyway.

Extremely happy with it.

The only thing stopping me from going to 21:9/IPS is that CSGO>Photo editing, I take photos every once in a while and spend a couple of hours a month? editing some of them whereas CSGO is my go to whenever I get home/get some free time.

I guess i don;t really play first person shooters. I like Battlefront, and seeing that on a screen so wide is amazing.

I have never tried 144hz, so am not missing it.

But 3440 is an amazing thing.

Depends on whether you game a lot. If you do then I would go for the 21:9 Z35.

Just got mine yesterday and have to say that it look's stunning and would be very difficult to go back to a 24" 16:9 Display. It's a VA panel so good contrast and blacks so still would be good enough for your photo editing. In saying that if you don't game much then the premium for G-Sync is not worth it.

If you don't game so much then there are a few 29" superwide available but you will struggle to find one that's 144hz without G-Sync or Freesync. The ASUS PQ279Q would be a good choice if you want 1440p res. I personally would go for super wide because I think it will take off in a major way in the next few years and the space you have on screen is so nice.

Yeah, I game A LOT as mentioned in my previous post.

It's mainly FPS competitively.

My gaming usage far outweighs my photo editing usage which I guess answers my question lol
