Online clothes retailer was having 75% off sale Wednesday so I bought some jeans/tops/shirts etc.
On Thursday I received an email saying all the clothes I ordered were out of stock and order was cancelled.

Today however I check the site and all said items are in stock but at full price. I emailed them and they said if I order I'll have to pay full price.
Does the site have to honor my order?

Check their terms and conditions. Many retailers say acceptance of the order is not completed until items are dispatched, even if you have gone through the checkout process. If this is the case, they are entitled to cancel your order.

Would you really want to order off a site that has such ***** tactics. Sound like a bunch of con men.

It would only be a "scam" if you ordered the items at one price but when then actually charged the higher price later on.
As they told you that you weren't getting the items at the price you expected then nobody has really done anything wrong.

If I owned a shop and found something I'd discounted was flying off the shelves I too would immediately take it off promotion and attempt to get more money for it.

It might well be that they got a better price on one batch of clothes from their supplier and decided to pass the saving on to get more custom, and once that batch were gone, they had to pay their usual price.
