Been out of the loop of pc's now, and looking to build a PC for BF3. I've got a high quality 750w PSU (Corsair HX series), I've got a case, Keyboard + mouse already. I've got a few HDD's but I want to get into the SSD market as well.

Is now the right time (as good as possible for pc building :p), or is there new technologies coming out which will drive down prices?

Looking to spend around £800, possibly buying some stuff second hand.

Bulldozer, AMD's next generation CPU is due in August. We have no firm benchmark results for it however and so if it does not meet Sandy Bridge speeds, then, more than likely, there will be no price. If on the other hand it turns out to destroy SB, then Intel will have to lower there prices.

In early 2012, Ivy Bridge, Intel's next generation CPU is due. There is meant to be, I think a ~20% speed increase over current SB processors.

Also, I think that AMD are set to release a new series of GPU's that are coming in Autumn.

You want to buy now, or wait?

^ Suddenly made things a lot harder!

I'm going into my third year so won't have much time so was hoping to get a few games in this summer as my PS3 is boring me immensely.

If your bored now just go for it, 2500k build will hold quite a lot of value I would imagine.

Bored of the ps3? buy a 360 *this is in no way an attempt to get you to buy my 360, honest*
