I havent found a use for them. The mobo uses a 20 pin atx connector another 4 pin connector and the gfx card uses a 6-pin power connector so what are the 8-pin ones for?

My shuttles got the 8 pin connector, the manual calls it the system power connector, i guess its an alternative to using the 20/24 pin one, as it uses the 6 pin connector for cpu power.

Is the 8 pin just double the 4 pin (ie looks like 2 standard 4 pin connections side by side)? If it is its for dual processor boards. I have a dual xeon setup and it uses an 8 pin and a 24 pin setup as opposed to the standard 4 pin and 24 pin setup on single processor boards. Its called an EPS 12v connection. Is your PSU a tagan by any chance?

Does it look like that? If so it is what I said above.
