I just drove down the shops to go and get some cash it was lashing it down with rain and i looked at my car headlights and though the bulbs are not ver bright i wonder weather i should buy new bulbs while looking at them the passenger side headlight went out.

Now thats odd.

I will wait till tomorrow before i order new bulbs as it may be faulty french wireing.

52 307 XSI.

Take the bulb out. Replace. Wiggle. Job done :D

I've found that 75% of the 'blown' bulbs on my cars have just needed a wiggle to fix...or a quick wiggle has reconnected and rewelded the filament for it to work (albeit briefly) again :D

You ain't wrong - when I was working at Halfords over the summer (~25hrs per week), I'd say of the bulb fits I was asked to do, probably 8 out of every ten was a Renault, Citroen or Pug!

Now that can be explained by the fact these are often family cars often driven by people of a less mechanically inclined nature who don't like getting their hands dirty, but that would mean many Kas and Fiestas* as well as 206s...and I saw many mor of the latter.

*On a slightly related note (okay, a complete tangent) I once had a very nice young woman wanting me to replace a broken reversing light on a Fiesta, until I pointed out that her car only had 1 reversing light, in common with many. She didn't believe me, and was really quite insistent that I change the bulb because her friend said it wasn't working..so I told her to watch the people reversing out of the car parking spaces outside. She returned looking sheepish, apologised for wasting my time then left :D
