What are the chances

I hooked up my new rig today and it kept restarting

Put it on the bench...same thing

Took the cpu off (2500k) and the pins on the board were all bent (about a quarter of them)

Question is, would my cpu now be dead? or you guys think i can save it.

I have no other test board to try it on either

Its hard to say if the cpu will be ok

CPU will probably be fine, question is how the hell did 1/4 of the pins get bent?!

Also if there bent then rma the board and show em the pic of the pins and ask if u can get a another board sent out now so u can use it while u send the other one back as if there mostly bent and pic shows it then they wouldnt need to test it then decide if u need another one.

I have no idea chaps

I didnt even realise.

I should have checked before i put the cpu in.

Its not the only thing wrong with the board either

One of the sata connectors is bent badly and there are a few scratches along the traces at the left hand side of the board

Was super excited to get it all working so i didnt notice until i had problems lol

Kinda gutted

Any ideas how ocuk will sort this?

Im blaming dpd as its not the first time things have been broken lol

Problem is as the cpu pins are bent this is usually closed as user error.

How badly damaged was the box / parcel?

Looks like the box was crushed pretty bad now that im looking at it

Take some pics of the box and post in the customer section and see what Ocuk come back with.

yeah ive allready posted a few pics of the board mate

but if they want a picture of the box then ill glady upload it

i just hope im not blamed for this

if it was my fault id just buy another board lol

OP stated the socket was like that when he removed the CPU. This makes me think that the socket pins were fine before the CPU was installed as surely he would notice they were bent before he installed them (if they were) if he noticed it afterwards?
