What are the consequences...

I think you should really be asking yourself what the chances my car will just vanish from under neither me 'cos I have no driving experience and sod all grip.

Fireyball of death is more worrying than plod imo.

its a ban, well near enough for a new driver.

6 points. 3 per tyre and i cannot remember the fine.

get em sorted lad, the weather is getting crapper.

3 points per tyre plus a fine, so you'll have your licence revoked and need to re-take your driving test.

arghh really loose my licence? :o just bought the car, the front 2 are just under the legal limit, and its £60 a tyre, which i dont have :(

Think i should take my chance till i get paid

personally I wouldnt drive it until it was legal, the very first thing a traffic cop does while checking your car for insurance etc is check your tyres.

Apologies to OP if this comes across as rude but frankly if you need to ask this question then you should not be on the road behind the wheel of car - get a bicycle, will much cheaper.

M'Kay people i am an idiot for asking the question, i know that 1.6mm is the legal limit, just didnt know what the law was on getting caught, they dont go over that on the test.!

What if the car i have is stolen and has no insurance, tax ot MOT? i kid :p

The point is not "what happens if i get caught" its "what happens if the bald dodgy tyres cause my journey to end in tragedy" ?. Yours, your passenger and other road users safety comes before the possible consequences. Don't drive around with the bloody thing, get it sorted to protect yourself and other users, especially now driving around on your own with your fresh off the press license.. This cavalier attitude to basic road safety does not bode well for your future driving career. Yes i speed, yes i do general unintended muppetery at times but i do so safely and with my car in a roadworthy condition.

Well don't drive the car then.

If you have an accident with the defective tyres then you will likely find your insurance is declared void and you'll be in a whole heap more trouble.
