Hi, I have just picked up an oem Audigy 4 card and noticed that there is no socket for CD in lead as on all of the other Creative cards that I have owned. I tried running an Audigy 2 installed in another comp without the sound lead from the DVD drive and it plays the music just fine.
I have always run a lead from the DVD to the sound card, have I been wasting my time for all of these years?
What is the lead for............??

Cheers, PeterT

no u havent been wasting time

in the earlier days, you needed a sound cable from the CD Drive to the sound card

now adays it all goes down the IDE cable :-)

ShiWarrior, thanks very much for clearing this up. Am I correct in thinking that there is no need for the sound lead at all?
Cheers, PeterT

Do remember though that some players (inc WMP) still have the option to play the sound from the analogue out of the drive and therefore make sure the option isnt on
