What are these temps for?

i was just running super_pi with speedfan running to see the temps of the cpu underload and i just wondered what are the temps that are highlighted in the picture from (e.g chipset etc)

and is temp2 the cpu?

well which one goes up the most when u load the cpu? i reckon 1 of those temps is not real... 3c?

u'r spec would help a lot.

A64 venice 3000+ @ 2.7Ghz
1gb twin mos ram
Gigabyte nforce 3 K8NSC-939 mobo
geforce fx 5600

temp2 rises the most so that must be the cpu, still dont know about the others

well temp 1 on mine is the case temp, 2 is cpu. Speedfan reports 2 other make believe temps which i just removed from the list. If those temps never change then just ignore them

Use Everest, then run speedfan at the same time, everest will tell you which is which then you can work it out.

could be somethin along the lines of, CPU, Northbridge and general system (case) temp id have thought

Temp 1 - General motherboard temp (could well be the actual temp of the monitoring chip).
Temp 2 - CPU
Temp - N/A (disable it)
Temp 3 - PWM (power section of the motherboard)
