If updates are getting cancelled because of errors see if the update log says why. Any failed updates should have an error message associated with them.

thanks :D

i ran that SFC.exe but doesnt seem to do anything, just flash a screen and then gone!
i hate the way vista updates much prefere xp for updating

ok i tried a few even this one which was security update for vista x64 systems which mine is and still tell me this.
i dont really wanna be doign a 3rd install as this is 3rd in a month!!!!!
first 2 my fault really but still lots of messing around!!!

have you been installing them in random order or something?

just set it to notify, then downlaod & install all updates when it asks

-do this, download sp1 x64, keep it on another drive/disc

format, install 64, install sp1, then windows update

updates are set to notify, and i usually click all and download.
i really dont want to be installing again, i have way to many programs to keep doing this!
ive gone thro nearly half now of the failed updates and tried to install via ms site and each time they say "update does not apply to your system"
i remember it doing this a week ago b4 i installed sp1 i was hoping sp1 might solve it !!!!!
