The one titled "The Maid" i might want to take a closer look at

I'm not too hot on the subject, but I think they should be all the same width of film, but you get different lengths to have longer playback time.

You'll probably find someone local in the yellow pages who can convert it to dvd which would be less hassle.

Cine film came in several sizes. 8mm was commonest for home users but there were at least three different versions of it; there was also a 9.5mm format but it was pretty rare. 16mm was used by pro's in the field and films were (may still be?) shot on 35mm plus 70mm was used for really wide-screen films. 35mm cine film was the original basis of the film for 35mm cameras.

My mother used to shoot cine film and one of the reasons I moved out was that I could stop editing her rubbishy results......

As already suggested, find someone who can convert them to DVD.

Ah ok - think i get it - size = width of film, rather than size of spool.

Thanks for your help - i think i know someone with an 8mm cine projector....
