Because apparently the world is going to end... again?

Instead of the world physically coming to an end on May 21 with a great, cataclysmic earthquake, as he had predicted, Harold Camping, 89, said he now believes his forecast is playing out "spiritually," with the actual apocalypse set to occur five months later, on Oct. 21.

Camping, who launched a doomsday countdown in which some followers spent their life's savings in anticipation of being swept into heaven, issued his correction during an appearance on his "Open Forum" radio show from Oakland, California.

This guy is a dick.

I'm pretty sure his method of working out the date of the rapture has nothing to do with the Bible and more to do with a year to page calendar and a pin.
 
So the world ended last weekend apparently, and 21st December next year (so called Doomsday 2012), and now 21st October this year?

This is getting worse than Divination classes with Professor Trelawney.
 
I shall look forward to his next prediction after this one. Should have a bet on what his next prediction will be :)

There is method in his madness, insofar as there is actual numberwork involved in getting to the dates he has come up with.

It's still madness though.
 
I'm pretty sure, given enough time, I could find a way to link this thread to something in the same manner he has.

Postcount of all posters * Number of vowels / filesize in bytes + width of banner graphic in px = days until alien life discovered.
 
I'll probably be at work like i was at the last prediction and awaiting this so called impending doom...perhaps i can convince him to call it off as i want to live life a little bit more:p, maybe even get married and have a couple of kids or maybe not as i dont want to bring kids into this world only for them to suffer a horrible fate:(
 
In fairness, he always said the world would end on Oct 21st. People get confused between the rapture and the apocalypse.

Yesterday I'd have still said it was all tosh, but given the epic madness I've had trying to get on my flight today, I'd say it's not that far away from hell on earth!
