What are you saving for?

A decent trip to either NY or some tropical paradise for me and the bird.
A house.

For those of you saving to pay off a student loan - don't. It is lunacy. You are ALWAYS better off putting the money in a savings account - you will make more money off the interest than you will save by paying the student debt off early.

I was saving to get my eyes lasered but I got that done last week. I guess now I'm saving endlessly for a house :(

Currently trying to save for a road trip next year with mates (amsterdam, berlin, prague).

Also my ticket to NZ, when I emmigrate next xmas.

I'm saving early because I'm useless at saving money.

Trying to pay my debts of again. After I saved up last year and paid them off
Then will be saving for at least legal fees to buy a house and probably a house deposit. depending how easy mortgages are to get.

Trying to save up for a car - it just isn't working though! Crappy wages, lessons, overdraft, birthdays, food and living expenses....I thought to myself "this is the month, I'll put away a nice >£300 and do the same every month from now on".....just hasn't worked out that way. I'm skint and there's still 4 weeks left until I get paid.

Makes me feel so crap!

Nothing :-P
Got my 55" 1080p SXRD downstairs/Got my 40" Sammy upstairs/Got my PS3/WII/360 /Got my Dell XPS M1730 at last / Brought my Citroen Saxo a few months back and I'm still happy with it.

Guess I'll start saving for a house though I'm happy in rented accommodation for the moment.

PS

I'm not rich, I had a rather nice insurance payout a couple years back :-)

A complete new rig, so I dont have to buy/replace/upgrade anything for a good while. My current one is tiresome.
