What are you saving up for?

Probably a car, I should have learnt to drive at 17, now 26 and haven't done one lesson. Way too nervous.. But If I pass, it'd be a huge help to the family who don't drive. And can't.

I learnt at 26 its not hard about 10 to 12 lessons and you be on it. ;)
Oh and the bloody theory you do now, just read the highway code, my favourite book as a child.:D

I don't have any savings as I have probably spent at least £25k over the last 10 years on flights :D

Suits me, rather enjoy life now.

I have a house already, which I've overpaid on quite well, so I am treating myself to a few things, some tech and some stuff for the house.

Recently bought:

55" LG OLED TV
Xbox One S and a couple of 4K blurays.
iRobot Braava 320 floor mopping robot
Sideboard for my lounge
Coat rack for my hallway
New plates and bowls
Some laundry basket cube things
Philips Hue stuff to go with my existing setup; hue dimmer switch, 2 x motion sensor, iris lamp, and 5 x white ambiance bulbs

I need more things still... I am largely looking at stuff for the house really, as I like to get stuff that is useful and lasts a while if I can.

Need a new rug for the lounge, considering getting a small "phone" table for the hallway, want at least 1 hue go lamp at the right price. Biggest thing I am considering buying is probably a car though, as mine is getting a little old. I may defer that though and just overpay the mortgage a bit and keep my current car going longer if I can.

Don't know if you guys also see it this way; but sometimes it's enough for me to know I can afford the things I want without necessarily needing to go out there and actually buy it. As a small example, I would not object to a sexy OLED 55' TV. I can go out and buy 20 of those things without suffering much financial embarrassment, but knowing that I 'can' do it, is just as good as owning it. Totally makes no sense but there it is.

However, one Red Dead 2 comes out, the OLED and a PS4 Pro is coming home to daddy without any further silly thoughts!

Short or long term, what are you saving up for?
Been working lots of overtime and saving like a mad man for the last few months to try get my bank account back to were it was before I bought my brand new car...

But it going take a very long time.....:(

I'm in the same boat, have saving and investments but don't really want for anything so just invest it, then any dividends buy some treats like my vive, I look at it like they are free treats for me :)

Always had the mentality that if there's something I like the look of and think do I want it if it's not a definite yes I don't need it.

Just remember money doesn't buy you happiness but does buy you a penguin and who wouldn't be happy with a penguin :)

A new driveway I think.

Although I'm not good at saving all. I'll generally just seen to pull money out of thin air when I need something.
