Basically I've been playing feed the beast mod for minecraft & I was wondering what are your favorite mods in minecraft or any game?

Would also like to know as my mate has given me his Minecraft account and i'd like to give it a go again, the last time I played the game was in Alpha on something like 1.2.1.

looking for anything that tarts up the graphics a wee bit.

I remember right back at the very start of my gaming life buying a magazine that came with a Mod for Quake called 'Malice' it came in a full on cardboard box as well (free with a magazine) I loved that game, I bet if I played it now it'd be extremely disappointing, but at the time, it was fantastic :D

Quake had a thing for mods, remember action quake being the no1 thing.

Not realy my bag, more of a lithium fan, or realy out there Qpong... kinda like Crossfire, teriffic game:)

Halflife in spades for me and a lot more id imagine.... TFC, CS, and what became a favourite of mine, Firearms.

Graphics & sound overhaul for Morrowind.

Too many to list for stalker, but in particular I do like Misery 2 for Call of Pripyat / Lost Alpha (with or without extra mods).

Surprisingly, although I'm not generally a fan Crysis, I have obviously enjoyed MaLDoHD / Blackfire's mod for Crysis 2 quite a lot. Must have reinstalled that several times now.

Single player mods for Quake / Quake 2 have been great fun to play, too.

i guess for minecraft it has to be treecapitator, as proof a mod doesn't need to be particularly complicated to use or add loads of features in order to be game changingly good. its something i'll always attempt to not run without regardless of modpack.

other mods i'd say mechjeb for ksp, as "cheaty" as it is, its at least realistic and very helpful for when you preferr to design than to fly. can't really say for skyrim, there's loads of really good mods and to give one the cake of being the best would be very hard to call.

Back in the day I think it was called Tactical Ops, it was a UT mod that basically included real weapons and stuff like CS. Think it was before CS though.

The Third Age - Lord of the Rings mod for Medieval Total War 2 and The Long War - staggeringly comprehensive re-working of the whole game for XCom.

Oh Damn, I remember seeing that LOTR mod years ago and then completely forgot about it. I'm tempted to install total war 2 just to play that.

My current fav mod is the Clash of Kings for Mount and blade warband. I'm currently in a Lannister army stomping all over rob starks men :)

Complete mod for STALKER ranks rather highly for me

Was just about to say the same thing. it really turns stalker from a good game into a great game.

Also agree with the OP in that FTB is epic. Its about a billion times better than tekkit/technic because FTB actually got the mod makers permission to use the mods, rather than tekkit which just stole them for their own purposes.

Another one that comes to mind is Faster Than Light: Captain's Edition. It really is worth a go if you like FTL because it adds so much to the game. With the slipstream mod manager its pretty easy to install too.

An honourable mention goes to the paradise island mod for burnout paradise on PC. In their wisdom EA decided that they should only release the paradise island DLC on the console versions of burnout paradise, and they didnt give it to the PC version. So, someone recreated the entire island, all its unique cars, and all the races and miscellaneous stuff that goes with it and released it as a mod for free. I say its an honourable mention simply because i havent tried it yet.
I have tried their DLC car unlocker and that worked wonderfully, so i expect this will be no different (The DLC car unlocker was made because EA decided it would be a great idea to make it impossible to buy the DLC cars outside of the US)
