What ATI card would be the same as my 260GTX

^^^
No you don't need to change the voltages until the cards begins to become unstable with the amount of overclock.
My 5870 gets to 940Mhz without the need to increase voltages etc.
You can also flash the card to an unlock bios that allows you to increase the voltages and overclock speed etc and you should then maybe get to 1000mhz but I'v not personally tried that.

thanks for your input mate if you dont mind me asking what do you use to overclock an ATI card i have not had one for years so kinda behind on the software tools for them.

I was just looking at the nvidia cards on ocuk and none of them seem have ddr5 ram on them compared to ati so would it be fair to say that ati are ahead of them in the market these days?

I'm just using the standard Ati catalyst control centre but you can use 3rd party software like msi afterburner.

As for the second question, yes Ati cards are the ones to get...

cool thanks for the input, i only have a 22" monitor so my max res is 1600x900 so i should have no problem running high end games on max with a 5850 will i?

cool cheers mate, i only have 1 pci x16 slot on my amd board so in the future i might look into cross fireing to of these bad boys, what are the best amd cross fire boards around these days?

Why are all the 5850's so different in price when they all seem to have the same specs?
