I just purchased the 5700X3D from the east. I need a B450 motherboard. Its for my son in law's first computer.
I've taken bits from my old computer like the DDR4 Ram, 1TB NVME and a 650w PSU.

The motherboard needs to have WIFI but other bits I'm not requiring high on the list other than being as cheap as possible. The computer is being built on a budget hence the reason why the older platform.

Thanks

Yes i saw a few comments when watching a few videos. How do get this working if the motherboard i end up buy supports the 5700x3d?
Would I get compatibility with the B450 motherboards or would it be down to revision numbers?

Some motherboards have a bios flashback process, would I use this to get the latest bios installed to get the 5700x3d working?

i wouldn't spend that much on an AM4 motherboard nowadays. old tech.

5700x3d (£125 which is what i think you'd have paid), £80 b550, £50 32gb ddr4 = £255

and just for comparison...
7500f (£95 from the east), £90 b650m hdv/m.2, 32gb ddr5 6000 (£70 or even less if you get this from the east) <= £255

so, you'd get a newer build with equivalent gaming performance (outside of select titles such as MSFS and MMORPGS) for the same-ish price
the only way that 5700x3d makes any financial sense is if the build is as cheap as possible
I know what you are saying, the build is a relatively cheap build. Its for my stepson and we want to build it together so knowing I have a fresh box motherboard with all the accessories gives me that confidence it will be all there to fire up. We will be likely doing the build on Christmas day. I have 16GB of my old ram (DDR4) so the B550 is the option i'm going for.
