What best to do about upgrading an old machine

I've got an old shuttle machine, which although on its last legs, is still being used for a bit of Battlefield. It's currently got 512MB of Corsair XMS CAS2 DDR3200 RAM in it and I was hoping to get a second stick of the same to upgrade it, but it seems to have dropped off the face of the planet.

What would be best to use? I'm considering getting a gig of Corsair CAS 3 stuff and running them both at CAS 2.5 (which is actually what the current stick is running at), but if anyone's got any better suggestions, I would really appreciate them.

Thanks :)

May work I suppose...

But it's more likely that you need to run them both at CAS3. Can't you find the same stick even in MM or on auction sites??

You might want to check the rest of your system, to make sure that you might not get more value out of a cheap graphics upgrade.... are you on AGP or PCI-E

Otherwise, no you will unlikely be able to run Cas3 ram at Cas2.5.
