What best to do with iPhone given to friend

I have given my friend my V1 iPhone but it no longer on a contract. What sim card is best to get for it. Is he able to get a iPhone pay go Sim card only for it or is that only provided for new iPhones?

If your friend is on 02 then it will just be a case of putting in the sim card. If not, there are various methods that have been much much talked about concerning unlocking the iPhone that is very simple. Have a look in the sticky thread at the top of the page for more info.

If he doesn't have a contract or anything and can buy any sim he wants, Simplicity from O2 is probably the best. No need to unlock, it's decent value, it's a 30 day rolling contract so you're not tied down, you can get a free bolt-on (i.e web or unlimited texts) included in most of them and add more for not very much. Loads of people with unlocked iPhones seem to use them

Are the wi-fi and data bolt-ons separate things presumably? Get the data one, how often do you need slightly quicker internet in a pub?

It would give you EDGE and Wi-Fi if you add the bolt ons.

Not 3G unless your giving him a 3G iPhone.

With the £20 tariff you get one free bolt-on, I presume. Definitely get the data one.
