Hi Folks,

I am looking to cut a hole in my case to fit a 120.2 rad and grill etc. I can get my hands on a jigsaw and a prill but just wanted to check the blades and drill bits I need. (I'll buy them new so they are nice and sharp).

The case is an aluminium Lian Li case so hopefully it won't be too hard. I know you can get metal cutting blades for the jigsaw, are these the best to get? What size drill bit should I get for the screw holes? Would I need to get a specific drill bit for drilling in the metal?

Thanks

Matt

Just make sure you get high quality metal cutting items. Best to go with named brands etc from B&Q or whatever.

For the drill, you'll need a very small drill for the pilot hole, then one for the size you need. Check the size of screws you'll need then drill a hole a tiny bit larger. Take your rad to b&q if you need to and you'll be able to size up the screws.

Do you know roughly what drill bits are needed to drill the holes to mount a rad/fan/grill combo in the roof of my case?

would it not be easier to measure the thickness of the screws/screw holes in your rad/fan/grill?

if your cutting circles then you may be better off with a circle hole cutter to attach to your drill instead of a jigsaw. and they'll need to be 120mm in diamater :) unless you want to do a custom shape/style hole?
