Does anyone know if these will fit the Sapphire R9 290 tri-X cards?

YOUR BASKET
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-FC R9-290(X) - Rev.2.0 £86.99
Total : £95.69 (includes shipping : £7.25).

As far as I know the sapphire boards are reference, but thought i'd ask before pressing the button.

Also - I assume these can be hooked up just with standard compression fittings and small lengths of tube between each card? I don't much like the look of the EK 'block' manifolds.

My CPU block is the XSPC raystorm, but since OCUK don't have 3 of the xspc VGA blocks in stock these EK blocks look like a good alternative?

Thanks for the replies :)

Another question - how easy are the backplates to fit -

ie - having fitted three cards with their blocks, and back plates on the bottom two cards into the system, could I fit a backplate to the top card after without having to dismantle everything later?

Easy. you remove some of the support screws from the block and put the back plate on then re fit the screws, 5mins top's

OK so I've pushed the button. 3 waterblocks arrive tomorrow, will be fitting them over the weekend.

So...
............

Parallel or series.

I've read so many pro's and cons for both sides now my head hurts

I have a D5 pump. My inner common sense says series, but what is best?

Am I right in thinking that parallel would mean more efficient CPU heat dissipation due to higher flow rate overall? (4770k being the biggest heat source?)

Discuss :p

Also, I have 3 fans in the roof of my 750d, one at the back and 2 at the front. All are on rads.
Which way would you have them run? Intake or output? Right now I have had them intake at front, output at top (none at back for now), but this setup is due to the large amount of heat generated by the two 290's i'm running on air right now. I fancy trying all on input, with filters, to give a positive pressure. Anything against this theory?

Are you running all three plus cpu on 360/240 rads? You may find that you'll need more rad space tbh mate. Shouldn't be too bad at stock or with a mild OC though.

Parallel/series = Your call. I prefer parallel with more than two cards, but that's me.

Airflow... Intake is the way to go IMO. You'll get a very hot case interior though.
Fwiw, I had my 360/240 (2x290) setup on exhaust with a single 140 intake and it worked well enough, but obviously you get more dust - even with filters.

So the parts arrived yesterday. Box was badly squished but thankfully the contents were fine. Spent all day today putting this together.

Everything I thought would be a nightmare went fairly straightforward, (connecting the pump and the top 420mm rad). Thankfully with a 90° bend fitted to the output of the pump, it lines up almost perfectly with a port on the 420mm rad. Happy days :)

Hooking together the 3 290's however just didn't work. There just isn't enough space between them for standard compression fittings :(
So I am still just on crossfire.
Looks pretty cool though I think. Not much space left in the 750D now.

Loop order is

Pump -> 420mm Rad -> CPU -> 140mm Rad -> GPU's - 280mm Rad -> Pump

So back to the drawing board on getting that 3rd 290 squeezed in.
Last resort will be the EK bridge. I just really like the look of the cards connected together directly, so will pursue that for now and see how I get on.

Motherboard in a Z87X-OC. I assume it has standard spacing. Any ideas?

OK help me out here please.

I've ordered 2 packs of these

YOUR BASKET
1 x EK Water Blocks HD Tube 12/16mm 2-Slot (2 pcs) £4.79
Total : £4.79 (includes shipping : ).

and 8 of these fittings to go with them,

YOUR BASKET
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-HD Adapter Female 12/16mm - Black £5.75
Total : £5.75 (includes shipping : ).

BUT, these fittings are female, as are the waterblocks, so I can't fit them :( (Rookie error)

It looks like there isnt an EKWB HD fitting specifically for the job in black or black nickel in the ocuk shop, will these do instead?

YOUR BASKET
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-HDC Fitting 16mm G1/4 - Black Nickel £5.45
Total : £5.45 (includes shipping : ).
