[...] Do these speakers take a while to "burn in"? i have been listening to them for 10 mins and they dont sound that impressive imo, the treble seems good, base is weak
Maybe im just used to my z-680s ! (which are currently blown!)
A couple of things regarding the bass:
There's a three-position switch on the back of the sub which controls bass amount. Check to make sure it's not on the lowest setting [can't remember whether that's up or down, sorry].
Is your sub positioned in the room for optimum low-frequency distribution? Try moving it to a few different areas [not easy, given the short power cable, I know] if possible.
I've got no experience of z-680s, but I've found that other Logitech x.1 speakers have a heavy bass bias; a boominess that's far from accurate or balanced, but if you're a real basshead you might well be used to this. The Aegos are designed for balanced/neutral output [well, as much as they can be given the hardware limitations], whereas the Logitechs almost certainly aren't.
This being said, check the source of your audio. You may have compensated for any deficiencies in the Logitechs by applying EQ; you'll definitely need to reconfigure for the Aegos if this is the case.
I've used Aegos for years, along with higher quality audio setups in recording studios, and never found them weak in the bass department. Not huge, but not weak. It's more about precision with the Aegos, and less about foundation-shaking.
