What cables am i goign to need for Akasa AK-FN057 Apache Super Silent 120mm Fan - 4

Ok i braught 3 of these fans originally i was goignto hook them up to a fan controller but now realsie its not needed. How ever the fans are 4 pin not 3 pin will i need any special wires, adaptors or anything or will these come with motherboards or a power supply ?.

I will be gettign the UD% board most likely and a corsaor 850w mudular power supply and dont want to be left having no way to connect the fans.

They wont go in the 3 pin wires clearly as they are not wide enough to fit any so im loking for just an adaptor for 3 pin or something to attach tomy power supply that can take 2 of 3 most likely 2 fans then put the other 1 in a single 1. But just need to know if i need to order anything in now so im not stuck waiting for parts when i set up my pc.

I think PWM is backwards compatable so you will be ok with plugging them into the 3 pin connectors (1 pin hangs over, it's made so that it fits on one way only too)

Your motherboard probably has PWM connectors on it anyway, I think most AMD boards do now.....I'm not much on AMD now tbh though.

I will be getting a intel 1 and they for sure wont fit in the fan controller 3 pins as its to wide. i guess if its a male adaptor without the bitso n the side it will work but i just need to know make sure if i do ive got 3 of these 4 pin or 3 pins where the side plastic bits wont get in the way

. I seen how to connect up to the 4 pins with 3 pin but not when its got the sides.

I have these fans on my UD5 and they fit just fine...however 1 runs at 1350rpm and the other runs at 1000...have been in the bios and turned off PWM and set to run full time both pins on the MB are 12v? :confused:

i have three of these fans, 2 on cpu & 1 on side of case, they deffo fit the 3 pin connectors. as Beep says.
1 pin hangs over & can only go on one way

Do the wire to conect this come from h power supply or the motherboard tho ? its 100% impossible with the wires that come with the fan controller as they wont fit in. so is it wirs you get with the motherobard or psu ?.

you attach the apache fans to the motherboard 3 pinheaders and there great fans got 4 myself

Intel boards have PWM too, the fans are deffo compatable with the normal 3 pin headers on the mobo, not with the molex connectors from the PSU

If you plug them into the mobo they will be powered & monitored i.e. you will see the fan speed in bios or windoze with the proper software. Most motherboards have 3-4 fan headers now, you should be fine m8ey.

If you google the fan name you can find an image of the PWM 4 pin, you can see it has a little rib on it that fits over the 3 pin kind.
