Ok so i purchased a couple of these bad boys to put in my shiny new Corsair 700D.

What I didnt realise was that neither my power supply nor the fans themselves came with power adaptors! The connection on the fan is female, been having a look on the OcUk I can't see a suitable cable male ended cable.

I am assuming i'm being thick - any help? I have surplus SATA, 4 pin MOLEX and floppy driver power cables. If someone could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

The fans power themselves from a four pin header on the motherboard. SO you would normally find a header called something like chan_fan 1 etc. Depends on your mobo and how many 4 pin headers it has asides from the one for the cpu fan. If you dont have enough spare you could get this:

You can hook up 3x 4 pin pwm fans to a molex for power and it has a cable that attaches to the 4 pin header on a mobo (or even share the cpu one) so the mobo controls the speed?

Others may know of a better idea though...

ps I have those fans and they are very good, good choice!

Or you could get a speerate fan controller?

I thought you said the connection on the fan was female?

It is, its a little odd looking in the picture but the connection on the fac accepts 4 pins, the motherboard has 4 pins.

Stupid question. Do I connect the PSU and the motherboard or that cause damage? Wasn't sure if the motherboard would be able to simply control the fans whilst the PSU delivered power or it would fry something :D

The akasa apaches are 4 pin PWM fans, this is the same connection as your cpu fan header on your motherboard, however a pwm fan can still be connected to the 3 pin fan headers on your board. The akasa cable that welshdragon has linked too, simly allows you to run 3 x pwm fans, one end connects to the motherboards cpu fan header, then you connect upto 3 pwm fans (such as apache) to the connectors on the splitter cable, then plug in athe molex connector to the psu, this provides the power to the fans without stressing the motherboard.
