What camera £700

I droppped my sony f717 last week, and damaged the lense. I've spoken to the insurance company about it and they will replace it with a new one upto the original value which was 700. So what are my options, what should I be looking out for?

Looks like the 350 is the clear favourite here with you guys. I liked the Sony camera as it allowed my to just point and shoot most of the time but also gave me the opportunity to have a play with the various settings on the odd occasion

Not sure what the difference is between the sony and a d-slr, anyone care to explain?
