What can I do with an unused FFXIV Collectors edition?

Hey guys I preordered the collectors edition of this game and like many others found it a huge flop, but now I have it just sitting around going to waste.

Is my account linked to my serial number? Or can I sell the game onto someone else without any of my details getting out?

Well you get weirdos like me who like to collect the limited editions of games (well at least ones with good physical content) without playing them. I bought a couple like that on ebay, but obviously that's always reflected in the price.
