I have a DS3, 4 gb Geil low latency, and a E6300.
I was wondering what sort of clock people have been getting with a system like  is it worth getting water cooling because iam lead to believe that having a full kit that cools the north and south bridge chips really helps when OCing and of course cooling of the g card and CPU is increased greatly.
Thanks in advance ;)

I should think youd easily get 2.8Ghz just by putting the FSB to 400Mhz, you mat hit 3Ghz but it depends on how far you can push your memory, to get 3Ghz you will need 430FSB so your memory will need to do 860Mhz. Should be fine tho on air and a freezer7 pro would be a good investment

A quick question, if the ram wont keep up is it ok to reduce the multiplier to 2:3 or something?

Don't forget the ratio is FSB: DRAM so this means in your example that for every two cycles of your FSB the RAM must do three. In other words you will be running your ram faster than your FSB.

I know what you are trying achieve, but as already stated you won;t be able to go lower than 1:1

Try running at 7x400 (1:1) first and then increase as fas as your ram will allow

Good luck! :)

is it a 965 or P35 DS3?

I had a E6300 at 3.15Ghz on a 965 DS3, sold it to my mate and it made 3.2 on a P35 DS3L, both times cooled by a AC Freezer 7 pro.

Had to give the MCH and DRAM a little more juice both times.
