What can I expect?

I've just ordered myself a copy of Windows 7 HP, what can I expect in terms of performance increase and compatibility issues coming from Vista 32 to Win 7 64? Is pretty much everything going to be faster?

Imagine driving Vauxhall Corsa and driving Porsche 911.
911 is like Win7 while Vista is like Corsa.

I wouldn't quite go that far since Vista is not that bad for everyone.

You will notice a difference, be it better performance or just the GUI being better laid out and much snappier than in Vista. Plus all the other wonderful things that comes with Windows 7, you will be very glad you upgraded.

Less RAM usage and more responsive UI are probably the two major "face value" differences between the two.
