What sort of build could I get for £600? I do not need a keyboard, mouse, speakers, monitors, hard drives, software, and GPU. I may consider OC'ing at some point.

When you decide to overclock buy a decent CPU cooler, this is your best option in the long run. If you want a CPU cooler included already then I suppose it would be best to downgrade the case to one of the low end cases.

Out of curiosity, why an i5 over an i7, and how do AMD and intel match up these days?

What are you planning on using the computer for? If it's main use is going to be gaming then the i5 750 is your best option both performance and price wise.

As for i7 it is closer to £700 for the parts you need without skimping too much on the parts.

Must admit it is the best yet.

If that CPU wasn't on special offer, he would have had no chance.:p

Indeed the OP should bare in mind that any spec's can change from £600 to ~£630+ in the space of a week depending on ram prices and this week only deals.

Assuming your shopping from OCUK ;)
