Hey guys,

Thinking of overclocking my current setup which is:

Asus M4A78 AMD 770 (Socket AM3/AM2+) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 7750 2.70GHz (Socket AM2+) - OEM
Kingston HyperX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 6400C4 800MHz Dual Channel (KHX6400D2LLK2/4G)
Geforce 8800GTS

So what would i be looking to get ?

Got the stock cooler on the CPU with thee temps.

Asus PC Probe says my CPU is at 51c idle ?

Thanks

51C idle seems quite toasty, if that's really your temp I wouldn't try any overclocking on the stock cooler. Splash out £15-30 on a cooler upgrade and you should be able to get it to 3.4-3.5 at a guess.

i have the same mobo and cpu, currently at 3.220ghz stock volts wont go up anymore. FSB = 229. using arctic freezer 64 pro. max load is about 40. but then again my case cooling is like an air field ;D

if you dont increase the volts max load only seems to jump up a few degree.

but i agree with redmint, 51C is pretty toasty. wouldnt attempt any kinda OC with idle that warm

How long has the heatsink been used? If its a while try cleaning the dust out of the fins and if you are using the factory applies thermal paste try some other stuff
