What can I o/c this chip to? Q6600

Each chip is different, you just have to trial and error the volts and Prime95 it until it's stable at the clock you want/can achieve.

I'm able to hit 3.6Ghz on my VID 1.2375 Q6600 with just 1.35V in bios. I'm sure there's more in it, but need better (i.e. WC) cooling.
 
That's a very low VID Q6600 you got there. Mine is 1.2625 and I run it at 3.3 with a vCore of 1.3, could probably get higher but then load temps become a problem for me.
 
That is an amazingly low VID. I would say keep upping the speed till it becomes unstable, then increase the voltage - just keep an eye on temps as you go though.

With a VID that low, i would have though 3.6GHz should be acheivable but will depend on the cooling on your chip and as said above, all of them are different.
 
Remember the VID reading given by coretemp while speedstep kicks in is incorrect. For example, for my chip coretemp reads 1.1625v while idle, but correctly 1.325v on load.
 
I disable speedstep and c1e when im overclocking, ive so far managed 3.4ghz on my q6600 using 1.3750 volts (vid of 1.2750)

Never knew that, my system has speedstep enabled and haven't ever noticed coretemp reporting a lower VID.
 
My board doesn't actually drop the vcore either. This is reflected in cpu-z. But coretemp shows a lower VID when the multiplier drops to 6x.

Only reason I mentioned this is because a VID of 1.1625v sounds too low to exist.
