I had to add this to a recent order to get above the minimum value. It's rated at 25kN which seems to be quite a lot. I don't need it but it was the only item they had which got me just over the order threshold.

What shall I use it for?

I like this. Can we find a tame crane driver and persuade him to try and lift my house?
iirc they are rated for "snap" loads (ie sudden) and sustained loads at different values.

I used one as a keychain for a few years on a set of keys that I didn't want to lose.

It’s only 2.5T or so*, a decent sized jack or engine crane should be able to generate enough force. Just need to get hold of a suitable load cell to measure the applied load.

*This may not be true I’d expect it to have at least a 2x safety factor before it’ll actually break

Probably 4 or 5 times SWL.

You could attach it to the tow hitch in case you are ever unfortunate enough to need rescuing by the RAC.

it's when you fall when climbing on non-stretchable(static) slings/cords that you generate biggest load -
if you let a 2.5t car freefall for 2s it's be doing 20m/s => 2500*20=50Kn shock force busted.
