Hi all,

Sorry for another PS3 thread  ... but,

I would like to get a PS3 around Christmas just really for the experience as I already have an X360.

But because my roots are in the PC (current rig QX6700 at 2.93GIG) and because I love to read/ learn about spec I am worried that the PS3's RSX will not be enough to keep up with the Xenos? Because of the fact it is based on the (7800GTX) and that after a while I’m going to be disappointed...

On the other hand the Cell BE is a power house and designed for floating point performance? Will this, or could this help the PS3 have, and do things that no other console can do? And help the RSX create really innovative content, or am I just looking too much into it and really the cell is just a powerful CPU...

Come on guys help me so what the PS3 has potential for...

it always worries me how the vast majority of people are only concernedf with what is the most powerful. Even looking back a generation most people loved the ps2 but that was the least powerful of that generation. The gfx will always be surpassed, I think everyone forgets how we all oohed and aahed at last gen screen shots, now they look slly.

But frankly so what. If a game is good it will never matter, its more about the style than the cheer pixel count of the gfx that affect a game.

So in summary, stop worrying about the hardware, just worry if the cash to get the system is reflected in the quality of the games that will be available to you.

:) love that and really it’s right, looks like I’ll be getting one then, really wont to play some of the innovative things coming...

Little Big Planet
Eye of Judgment
Guitar Hero

and then there is Final Fantasy :D and wipeout HD.

Thanks for all the discussion anyways guys; at least I didn't create a flame fest thread

no it doesnt, its not set up like that. the cell helps the rsx, not the other way 'round. the cell helps with shaders ect.

Hi, can you elaborate on what you know about the cell if anything, and what it could potentially do on the PS3, I’m sure you only no general info and I’m sorry for putting you on the spot, but your post was the kind of thing I was looking for...

Thanks

I cannot believe the banter on here, her I was trying to start a debit about the potential of the Cell BE and weather it’s near super computer (theoretical) number crunching capabilities could help the PS3 be innovative...

I don’t post near as much as I used to in either of the gaming sections on these boards and really its all this almost uncontrollable bickering that has dampened my spirit, what happened to really informative and helpful intelligent individuals on these forums starting, and giving really helpful and useful information?

I thought if you hadnt read your first post, you would think you asked was a PS3 better than a PC or whats the best controller! Theres still plenty of people on here with useful info but they nearly always get shouted down by fanboys trying to force there " I'm Right your not" opinions. Anyway the Cell is a theorectical power house, but its still in its infancy so im not sure if companies will risk truely innovative games. Games such as littlebigplanet have innovative ideas and if its as good as ive have heard it will be a game that will be as innovative as the people who play it.

Yes I totally agree there, that unfortunately like you say fanboyism and pointless banter do seem to take over in the gaming section on her, but I guess it will always be there as long as there is consoles and ever increasing PC hardware,

tbh I love being a part of both if not only to see what’s just over the next hill technology wise :) and I love your comment about "Little big planet" it really does look cool. I hope developers do start to bring more of these really unique idea's to the table I really do think it’s what the games sector needs
