What can you ride with just a CBT nowadays?

My nephew is doing his CBT this week and wants a little bike/scooter of some kind. Can he ride the big scooters with a CBT?

I'll take the Buell thanks. Pulling slightly ahead for a few yards off the line isn't going to make up for riding a fag chariot that sounds like a mosquito wedged inside your ear.

The thing with those overbored peds is, they need rebuilds and something constantly goes wrong. The amount of fuel they consume is ridiculous, of the start line they do have a nice punch though. Some can do 80mph, the Malossi MHR with heavier rolls has done 87mph before. Than you have the 172cc and 192cc kits which are available for Gilera Runners.

Is he just looking to use this as a cheap run around until he can get a car or does he want to stick with bikes? if its the latter I would hold out for a 125 bike as he really should be getting the experience on a bike with gears.

Is it rubbish? :p

I'm looking at doing my CBT and then moving onto my DAS and this seemed a pretty good option to get some experience!

I think the general opinion is great when it works but expect to have the odd electrical issue and general little niggles you wouldn't expect from a decent brand like KTM, unfortunately their smaller models aren't european made like their higher end stuff they're knocked up on the cheap in India.

If you're only using it as a stop gap before doing your DAS go for something Jap made they're basically bomb proof and you'll get back what you paid when it comes time to sell it on.

My advice would be to get either MT125 or WR125, enjoy riding... not waiting a month for a part which costs a bomb or be strangled somewhere far away from your home.

On the Duke no comment... you can search for my previous post if you're interested in my opinion.
